On Tuesday night, we zipped up to Manchester for the rather exciting launch of Diesel’s campaign with Festival No 6. Of course, if anyone knows how to throw a party, it’s Diesel – they brought the lovely band Dutch Uncles and the Horsemeat Disco DJ Severino (who we caught the train up with and is LOVELY), so it’s no understatement to say that the assembled crowd of MCR tastemakers all had a pretty fun time –helped with bundles of cocktails.
Festival No 6 itself is a three day festival in Portmeirion, Gwynedd, Wales. Starting on Friday September 13th, the extravaganza will see the likes of James Blake, Badly Drawn Boy, My Bloody Valentine, London Grammar and Manic Street Preachers play. Food and drink is provided by organic food stalls, London’s MEATliquor and pop up cocktail bars, and you can even rent historic rooms in Castell Deudraeth, individual cottages – or just simply bring your own tent to stay in. The festival will also have a cinema, pop up theatre, art installations, comedy and human chess – what more could you ask for?
As well as working with the festival, Diesel are joining up with two brilliant bloggers – the lovely Monica Welburn of The Elgin Avenue and the fabulous Mark Cullum of A La Male to create capsule collections for the festival, both of which were launched at the Manchester event. We’ll be following their journeys to the festival and the unveiling of their collections, as well as reporting from Portmeirion live in September, so keep your eyes peeled to PlanetNotion and everyone’s social media feeds. Looking at the line-ups and having had a preview, we’re getting excited about the whole thing already. And it’s STILL 4 weeks away!
